Scholar Spotlight – Reflection on Discover Wake Forest Day

Being part of the Wake Forest College LAUNCH for Leadership program has opened my eyes to the many different opportunities that college has to offer. College LAUNCH has helped strengthen my leadership skills and knowledge about college and the application process. Discover Wake Forest was an amazing experience. Our day was extremely structured and well put together. With the help of some of Wake Forest’s Admissions faculty, I was able to gain insight into how the admissions committees evaluate applicants and how strenuous the process can actually be, though it happens in a matter of minutes. I was also able to further my knowledge of FASFA and the different scholarship opportunities available at Wake Forest University through a presentation from a representative from the Office of Financial Aid.

The tour of the campus was my favorite part of Discover Wake Forest. The campus is absolutely beautiful and the environment was immensely calm! Aside from Wake Forest’s beautiful campus, the food we ate during lunch in the dining hall was delicious. Our day ended with a panel of College LAUNCH Alumni who are current seniors at Wake Forest. I enjoyed being able to hear from some of the LAUNCH Alumni about how they used the information they learned during College LAUNCH to help them, as well as their experience as a Wake Forest student. Discover Wake Forest was insightful and very influential. I am extremely excited and ready to apply in the fall.
