Current Status: I am a Wake Forest University School of Business student pursuing my Master’s of Management.

Favorite College LAUNCH memory: One thing that I enjoyed during my time in LAUNCH was when we had large and small group discussions about problems that are directly impacting our community. Even though we all lived in Winston-Salem, we all went to different schools and came from different backgrounds. It was interesting learning about the range of topics my peers were passionate about. It was conversations like these that led me to major in sociology while at Wake.      

How LAUNCH helped set you up for your future : There was one meeting where we discussed how to apply for financial aid in college, and I found this session to be extremely helpful. The topic was new to me, and it had been a while since my mother helped my older brother during his application process. It was daunting looking at the cost of attendance prices for some schools, but knowing that most provide financial assistance and that there were external scholarships that I could look for, helped alleviate some of the burden.    

One thing you’d tell current LAUNCH Scholars: When you visit campus for your meetings, try to talk to current students. They will be the best resource for you during your college search. We have been through what you are going through and can give tips and tricks to make the process easier.
