MEDucation Day 2026: Best of Both Worlds
Our LAUNCH Scholars try their hands at healthcare.
“MEDucation” Day has been a core part of the College LAUNCH for Leadership Program since it’s inception in 2014, allowing our Scholars to discover or sharpen their interests in the medical field. This spring, we are beyond excited to announce a blossoming partnership with the Wake Forest School of Medicine Charlotte Campus at the brand new Howard R. Levine Center for Education in the heart of The Pearl, while continuing to cultivate our long-standing relationship with WFU School of Medicine Wake Downtown Campus in Winston-Salem.
Each year we support two cohorts of Scholars, one in the greater Charlotte area and one in the greater Winston-Salem area, and this April our Charlotte cohort was able to explore all of the educational opportunities that the WFU School of Medicine Charlotte Campus at The Pearl has to offer.
Between participating in a birthing and CPR simulations with top-of-the-line medical training manikins, learning how to suture and drill Burr holes, designing robotic limbs and examining human and primate brains, and discovering anatomy via ultrasound and the ins and out of the emergency medical vehicle, both cohorts of our 2025-2026 Scholars had the ability to picture themselves in roles that serve the health of their communities as well as the health of individual patients.
We are so grateful for our partners in the Wake Forest School of Medicine who make MEDucation Day possible for our Scholars!
